Thursday, 14 May: Walk with Us to Einsiedeln!

Love fresh air, good company, and a bit of adventure? Then lace up your boots and join us!

On Thursday, 14 May, we’re heading out on our traditional Landeswallfahrt, a pilgrimage on foot from Zug to the stunning Kloster Einsiedeln. This year is extra special: we’re celebrating 600 years of this beloved tradition!

At 5:00 a.m. at Gut Hirt Church, we kick things off bright and early with a blessing from Fr. Kurt (yes, it’s early, but worth it!). Then it’s backpacks on, spirits high, and off we go!

Together, we’ll walk through Zug’s beautiful countryside, arriving in Einsiedeln around 12:00 p.m.
Later, at 3:00 p.m., Mass in the Kloster church starts for Zuger pilgrims.

A few good things to know:

  • Don’t worry, this is not a race! You’re free to walk at your own pace.
  • We won’t march the whole way without breaks. There’ll be plenty of chances to stop in villages for coffee, snacks, and a well-deserved rest.
  • Some pilgrims pray the rosary (in German) or other prayers along the way.
  • Others simply enjoy the walk, the scenery, and the good company.
  • Walk the whole route or just a part of it. It’s up to you!

Whether you stay with a group or go your own way, it's a wonderful chance to get some exercise, meet new people, and share a special day with pilgrims from different parishes, cities, and languages.

We’d love for you to join us!
