General information

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

On the night of the Last Supper, Jesus took the bread, said the blessing, broke it and said, "This is my body which will be given for you, do this in memory of me."

Jesus Gives Himself

The words are familiar to us. When we read them, we can imagine the priest behind the altar raising the blessed host up toward heaven. We can hear the bells ring and the light scent of incense in affirmation of the consecration. As we hold out our hands and make a soft throne to receive our King, we hear those healing words: The Body of Christ.

Amen

Jesus' gifts of the bread and wine, his very body and blood, make his love and the love of our Father, accessible to all who dare to believe. On the feast day of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) we take the Body of Christ out into the world.

Zug Celebrates

We celebrate this sacred mystery in the Canton of Zug on Thursday, June 8, 2023. We will come together in St. Michael's Church, above the Old Town of Zug for Mass at 10:00 (in German). All of the children who have made their First Holy Communion this year will join us as they once again wear their white robes. At the end of Mass, we will exit the Church in procession behind the monstrance carrying the Blessed Sacrament. We will parade to the Chapel of Our Dear Lady (Liebfrauenkapelle) and then to St. Oswald's Church for a reception.

Everyone Is Invited

Please join us on Thursday, June 8, 2023 beginning at 10:00 as we share the love of Christ in our hearts and in our lives.
