The Courage to be Kind

“Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.” Romans 12:21

Weekly Impulse

Kindness is not weakness. In a world that often shows a hard, bitter face, it takes courage to respond with gentleness. True kindness requires real strength. True kindness is choosing to see the face of Jesus in others even when it’s difficult.

This is something that St. Paul understood very well. He was once a man of passion and force, persecuting Christians in the name of righteousness. After encountering Jesus, he was transformed into a bold apostle who met opposition, imprisonment, and even violence. St. Paul did not let hatred shape him. Instead, he conquered evil with the goodness and love of Christ.

This week, let us reflect on how we can let kindness transform our daily interactions.

How can we resist the temptation to respond to negativity with more negativity?

True victory is not in overpowering others, but in choosing to reflect the love of Jesus—even when it costs us something.
