Thank You, Good Shepherd Volunteers!

Building Community Together

As parish activities restart after summer, we take this opportunity to thank our great volunteers for all they do! Women and men from different ages, languages, and cultures gladly give of themselves to make our parish a unique, multilingual, faithful family in the heart of Zug. You see them serving at Mass or assisting with the Children’s Liturgy, for example. They're on the new Parish Council or organizing prayers such as F.A.I.T.H and Rorate. They run the Fellowship “apéros” after Mass and so much more.

For Serena, co-facilitator of the bible study, volunteering is "an expression of my faith and a form of charity that is good for the soul when you know others can also benefit from the contribution....[N]o matter how big or small a part I play, I'm simply able to give something back to the community….[T]he underlying spiritual connection...shared among the volunteers...keeps me motivated…”
Danielle, who applies her love of teaching to assist at the Children’s Liturgy, finds volunteering at Good Shepherd meaningful because “it gives me the opportunity to serve others” and “is [a] very enjoyable way for me to contribute to our parish community using the skills that God has given me”.

Our volunteers build something together that’s greater than what one person could alone: community. In addition, the bonds fostered and created are what many parishioners remember even after they have left Zug.
