General information

Preparation for First Communion

Good Shepherd offers an intense, well thought out program for preparing children to recieve the Holy Eucharist. We try to meet the needs of families who have a demanding schedule or who might be living in Switzerland for a short time. Our preparation is a nine month course, with classes being held on Wednesday afternoons from 16:00-17:00.

All classes take place during the school year with the exception of school vacations. Classes will begin during the first week of September. If you are interested please complete the registration form and return to us. Click here to download the form.

First Communion will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00.

Glass Cross Workshop

The Cross is one of the most visable signs of Christian faith. It can be found on top of mountains, on the side of the road, in cemetaries, as jewelry and of course in homes and churches. As part of our First Communion Preparation, we have invited Lilian Bumbacher to join us from her Glass Atelier in Baar to lead the chldren in designing their own cross make from glass. The finished product will hang above the altar after Easter. Children may take their cross home following the Feast of Corpus Christi (May 30, 2024).

For our records, we need to have a copy of your child’s baptism certificate. It does not need to be a new issue. You can send it electronically, by post or personally give it to us. The copy must be readable. If it is not, it’s helpful if you can attach a note stating where the baptism took place.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at any time.
