The Upper Room

In the southern part of the Old City of Jerusalem, one can find the traditional site of where Jesus held his Last Supper, the Upper Room. It is here where the Gospels say that Jesus washed his disciples’ feet. It is here that Jesus gave the gift of himself to his disciples. It was at the Last Supper that Jesus introduced the Eucharist. Every Eucharist is a celebration of the Passover. The Mass on Holy Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 20:00 is one of the most important Eucharist Celebrations of the year. Gut Hirt and Good Shepherd will celebrate with a bi-lingual Mass. After the Gloria is sang, the church bells will remain mute, the altar will be cleared and the eternal light will be extinguished. Let us enjoy this time of silence and emptiness as we prepare ourselves to meet the Risen Christ on Easter Sunday.
