Hope Is A Journey
Hope is a feeling of trust. A feeling of expectation or the wish that something special will happen. When things don’t go the way we expect, we experience feelings of disappointment, even sadness.
Ring Out The Old
Looking back on the year 2020, I am certain that a majority of us have experienced some disappointment and sadness. We made plans that had to be postponed or cancelled and the separation from loved ones filled us with sadness. Looking back, 2020 challenged us to adapt to a new way of living in a world of uncertainty and for some without hope. Who knew one year ago that we would be where we are today?
Celebrating Jesus
On January 3 we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord. Jesus brought peace, justice, love and hope into a world of uncertainty among a nation of people who were beginning to lose hope. Wise men from the east followed a star to Bethlehem in search of the newborn king of the Jews. The magi came from lands far in the east using a bright star in the sky to guide them on their journey. It ended at a stable where they found the Christ child.
Ring In The New
It is with this child that our journey begins. It is a constant daily journey taking us through bright days and dark nights, from deep valleys to mountain tops, through lush green meadows and dry deserted plains. When we become confused or lost in disappointment, discouraged by the news of the day we must trust in God. He never leaves us in the dark nor does he abandon us. Let us never lose sight of the shining star or the Christ child. Good Shepherd’s wishes you all the best for 2021. May the light of the Lord guide you in the coming year and throughout all your days.
